A man who understands catly behavior. I liked the detail of him stopping to lick his leg (Henry, not Jasper). Of course he would. Here is a quick cat for you
Finally -- someone on Substack who knows the difference between the verbs Lie and Lay. I believe you and I are the only ones who care any more, Stevee...
It is a losing battle, I am afraid and we just have to let it go. Like using Can I? or May I? That distinction is long gone, succumbed to common usage. It is natural; language evolves. Otherwise we would all still be talking like Chaucer, wouldn't we? But I will NEVER spell probably as "prollie"... That is going too far.
Yuck. Poor Jaspar. Haha. I think Henry is definitely a cat's cat. I think every cat likes high places and it's very understandable. They need an edge. I'm glad my cat cannot communicate with me telepathically, though. I don't want to know what's going on in that head. Hehe. Great read, Steve.
Cats--most pets--share consciousness with those tuned to their wavelength. In my experience--as you astutely describe--intent and meaning is conveyed in their pose and gesture (not exactly telepathy, but a shared consciousness nonetheless).

Thanks for the wonderful cat pics. My cat likes to burrow under blankets, too. Regards lie and lay, their misuse makes me scream.

True! So it goes. And some nouns that were uncountable have become countable, such as technology. It's a losing battle)))

Good one, Steve. Henry sure put Jasper in his place at the end. The cats in my neighborhood do not respect my dog. Maybe it's the leash.
Cat and dog. It can be an incendiary mix))). Thanks a lot for reading.
Cats rule, no matter how much we try to deny it. And Henry is a case in point. Good story.
They know they are gods and we are their servants ((((

I have intense relationships with cats. They are worthy of worship. Thanks for link to another cat tale
